The ADOW Foundation was founded in loving memory of Andre DeWayne Oliver Woodside to advance mental health education, promote suicide prevention, and eliminate the stigma of seeking support.
Every program, event, and partnership we build is rooted in these four commitments.
Workshops, seminars, and programs that build mental health awareness in schools, workplaces, and communities.
Equipping people with life-saving knowledge, early intervention skills, and direct connections to crisis support.
Partnerships with schools, businesses, and faith organizations to build compassionate, informed networks.
Walking alongside families impacted by suicide loss — connecting them to resources, services, and one another.
Born and raised in West Palm Beach, André DeWayne Oliver Woodside carried a remarkable passion for life from the very beginning. He had a bright spirit that drew people to him effortlessly — a gift for making everyone around him feel seen, valued, and loved.
André was more than a beloved son, brother, and friend. He was a dedicated football player, an Eagle Scout, and a committed volunteer — giving his time and heart to Christ Fellowship, The New S Avenue Church of Christ, and Faith Church West Palm Beach. He showed up for his community in quiet, consistent ways that reflected his deep care for others.
He was also a creative soul. André wrote raps, poetry, and short stories, channeling his inner world into words with a talent that touched those who read his work. He even self-published a novel — a testament to his drive and his belief that his stories were worth telling.
At just 23 years old, André died by suicide on January 27, 2020. Behind the joy he brought to every room, he had carried a silent weight — one that too often goes unseen. His loss left a profound grief in those who loved him, and a question that has since become a mission: What if more people knew they weren't alone?
The ADOW Foundation was created in his honor — to ensure that his legacy lives on through suicide prevention, mental health awareness, and compassionate support for those who are struggling. Every workshop, every conversation, and every person who finds hope through this work carries a piece of André forward.
